America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces in Health Care 2026 Methodology Overview
America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces in Health Care 2026 honors the top midsized employers in the United States based on their performance on key metrics relevant for employees working in the healthcare sector. The study incorporated over 1.3 million online employee reviews and publicly available data to evaluate 3,000 healthcare companies employing between 500 and 1,000 individuals.
Plant-A Insights partnered with Aniline, a leading HR analytics company, to leverage their extensive database of over 120 key performance indicators for companies based in the United States. Midsized employers were scored across six comprehensive categories, which include Working Environment, Culture & Belonging, Compensation & Benefits, Work-Life Balance, Career Progression & Training, and Company Culture.
In addition, results from America’s Greatest Workplaces 2026 study were used to identify key workplace satisfaction drivers, with corresponding categories weighted by their relevance for target groups.
The comprehensive analysis was supplemented by a validation review using the Critical Mention media monitoring platform from Onclusive. This process investigated whether employers were implicated in unfair workplace practices or reported for workplace harassment within the last two years. Any employer found engaging in such practices were subsequently excluded from the final ranking list.
A proprietary scoring model was used to create a final score for each evaluated employer that considered all relevant weights on categories. The 350 highest-scoring companies have been recognized by Plant-A Insights and Newsweek as America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces in Health Care 2026.
The exclusion of a company from this ranking is not a reflection on its quality and is not disputed.
