America’s Greatest Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community 2026 recognizes the best employers based on their success across multiple performance metrics relevant for women, minorities and diverse demographic groups. The comprehensive study combines a large-scale national survey, extensive desk research, and third-party data to evaluate companies with more than 1,000 employees.
The national survey was conducted between April 2025 and October 2025, gathering more than 2.7 million company reviews from more than 179,000 employees. Additionally, results from three previous studies that took place between 2022 and 2024, encompassing more than 4.9 million company reviews and more than 400,000 interviews, have been incorporated into the overall findings. This makes America’s Greatest Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community 2026 one of America’s largest independent employee studies.
An extensive desk research effort took place to identify and verify additional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tied to workplace culture, community and inclusion. These metrics include management diversity ratios, published ESG and EEO-1 reports as well as online sentiment regarding culture, acceptance and safety around coworkers.
In addition, Plant-A partnered with Aniline.ai, a leading HR analytics firm, to consider more than 37 million data points across more than 120 KPIs that include Leadership, Integrity, Workplace and Benefits.
Critical Mention media monitoring platform Onclusive was utilized to investigate whether employers were implicated in unfair workplace practices and/or reported for workplace harassment within the past two years (December 15, 2023 — December 15, 2025). Any employer found engaging in such practices was subsequently excluded from the final ranking list. Newsweek and Plant-A Insights conducted multiple iterations of the media monitoring process to validate exclusions and ensure the accuracy of the results.
A proprietary scoring model was used to calculate the overall score for each company, incorporating weighted scores across target groups, categories, desk research and third-party data. The highest-scoring employers have been officially recognized by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights as America’s Greatest Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community 2026.
The exclusion of a company from this list is not a reflection of its performance and is not disputed.
