America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2027 Methodology Overview

America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2027, a collaboration between Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group, recognizes the nation’s most desirable employers. The ranking highlights companies that excel at inspiring their existing workforce and attracting prospective employees, while also delivering a strong overall workplace experience.

To be eligible for consideration, a company must have at least 1,000 employees, a principal office in the United States, and not have been implicated in unfair workplace practices or workplace harassment within the last two years.

The Inspirational and Aspirational Factors

These dimensions assess the ability of a company to inspire its current workforce and attract prospective employees. More than 100,000 U.S. employees were surveyed between April 2025 and October 2025 and asked which employer they would love to work for. Results from previous studies were incorporated with a reduced weight, bringing the total to more than 390,000 employee interviews conducted between 2023 and 2025.

Inspirational Factor: This measures the percentage of employees who named their current employer, reflecting the ability of a company to delight and inspire its existing workforce.

Aspirational Factor: This measures the number of employees who named a company that is not their current employer, serving as a testament to the public image, reputation and overall attractiveness of the company.

Overall Company Performance

This dimension evaluates workplace culture and employee experience. Results from the large-scale America’s Greatest Workplaces 2026 study were incorporated into the analysis. The research included more than 179,000 U.S. employees, together with results from previous studies conducted between 2022 and 2024, which were incorporated with a reduced weight. Each company was evaluated across 10 key categories of employee satisfaction.

In addition to the survey data, the analysis was supplemented with more than 120 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provided by HR analytics firm Aniline. These KPIs covered areas including leadership, integrity, compensation, benefits and work-life balance.

The comprehensive analysis was supplemented by a qualitative validation review. The media monitoring tool Critical Mention from Onclusive was used to screen employers for unfair workplace practices and workplace harassment reported during the previous two years, covering August 2024 through August 2026. Companies identified as having engaged in such practices were excluded from the final ranking.

A proprietary scoring model was used to calculate the overall score for each company, incorporating weights across demographic groups, questionnaire items, categories, desk research and third-party data. The highest-scoring 750 companies were recognized by Plant-A Insights and Newsweek as America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2027.

The exclusion of a company from this list is not a reflection of its performance and is not disputed.

Plant-A Insights Group has a strict no-pay-to-play policy. America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2027 is based on independent research and unbiased data analysis. No applications.
