America’s Greatest Workplaces by Industry 2026 Methodology Overview

America’s Greatest Workplaces by Industry 2026 recognizes the top employers across five major U.S. sectors based on an in-depth evaluation of key workplace performance metrics from the employee perspective. The industries assessed areHealthcare, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Professional Services, and Technology.

The study combines publicly available information, insights from HR professionals, and a large-scale, confidential online employee survey conducted by Plant-A. Employees across the U.S. provided feedback on key workplace factors, including sustainability awareness, compensation and benefits, training and career growth opportunities, work-life balance, workplace environment, company reputation, and corporate culture. The survey was designed to be demographically representative, aligning with U.S. Census Data. Eligible companies were required to operate within one of the five selected industries and employ 1,000 or morepeople.

More than 579,000 employees across the United States contributed over 7.7 million comprehensive company reviews, making this study one of the nation’s largest independent studies focused on employee experiences.

All companies featured in the rankings undergo a thorough screening process for workplace-related concerns, legal issues, and reputational risks using the media monitoring platform Critical Mention, an Onclusive company. Each identified mention was carefully reviewed, and companies associated with critical concerns were removed from consideration.

Plant-A also partnered with a leading third-party data provider, Aniline, to leveragetheir extensive database of over 120KPIs for U.S.-based companies. These KPIsincludeLeadership, Integrity, Compensation, Work-Life Balance, and other critical measures of workplace performance.
