America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community 2026 recognizes the top midsized employers in the United States based on their performance on key metrics relevant for women, minorities, and diverse demographic groups. The comprehensive study analyzed more than 4,700 companies in the country with an estimated workforce of 500 to 1,000 employees.
Plant-A Insights partnered with leading data analytics firm Aniline to leverage their extensive database of more than 70,000 companies to identify and evaluate midsize employers in the United States. Utilizing more than 2.6 million online reviews across 120 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), midsize companies were scored on six categorical dimensions related to employee happiness, which include Integrity, Culture & Belonging, and Career Development.
Additionally, results from large-scale nationwide surveys comprising over 7.7 million employee reviews collected between 2022 and 2025 were used to calculate categorical importance weights. These importance weights were then harmonized against the six drivers of workplace happiness relevant for the target groups.
An in-depth desk research exercise was conducted to calculate a desk research score for each company based on additional metrics tied to workplace culture, community, and inclusion. These metrics include management diversity ratios and published ESG and EEO-1 reports.
The comprehensive analysis of each company was supplemented by a qualitative validation review using the Critical Mention media monitoring platform from Onclusive that included a thorough screening of public records and media coverage from the past 24 months to ensure the integrity and real-world relevance of the rankings.
A proprietary scoring model was used to create a final score for each evaluated employer that considered all relevant weights on categories. The 500 highest-scoring companies have been recognized by Plant-A Insights and Newsweek as America’s Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Communtity 2026.
The exclusion of a company from this ranking is not a reflection on its quality and is not disputed.
