America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2026 Methodology Overview
America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2026 recognizes the best employers dedicated to supporting women in the workplace based on their performance across multiple metrics. The comprehensive study combines a large-scale national survey, extensive desk research, and third-party data to evaluate companies with more than 1,000 employees on their commitment to workplace success for women.
A nationwide survey was conducted between April 2025 and October 2025, gathering more than 1.1 million company reviews from more than 89,000 female employees. Additionally, results from previous studies that took place between 2022 and 2024, encompassing nearly 2.3 million reviews from 215,000 respondents, have been integrated into the overall findings. This makes America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2026 one of the largest independent studies on the female workforce in the United States.
An extensive desk research effort took place to identify and verify additional Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tied to the most relevant metrics for women in the workplace. These metrics include the share of women in management and leadership positions, published ESG, EEO-1, and diversity reports, as well as official programs dedicated to supporting women in the workplace.
Plant-A partnered with Aniline.ai, a leading HR analytics firm, to consider more than 37 million data points across more than 120 KPIs tied to workplace performance. The most relevant KPIs tied to employee satisfaction from the perspective of women, such as Gender Equality, Fairness, and Inclusion, were weighted higher in the analysis.
Critical Mention, a media monitoring platform from Onclusive, was utilized to investigate whether employers were implicated in significant issues, including legal and regulatory actions or workplace and labor violations such as discrimination or harassment. Any company implicated in these activities within the past 24 months was excluded from the final ranking list. Newsweek and Plant-A Insights conducted multiple iterations of the media monitoring process to validate exclusions and ensure the accuracy of the results.
A proprietary scoring model was used to calculate the overall score for each company, incorporating weighted scores across target groups, categories, desk research and third-party data. The highest-scoring employers have been officially recognized by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights as America’s Greatest Workplaces for Women 2026.
The exclusion of a company from this list is not a reflection of its performance and is not disputed.
