America's Most Admired Workplaces 2026 Methodology Overview
America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2026, a collaboration between Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group, recognizes the nation’s most desirable employers. This list highlights companies that excel at attracting and retaining talent, based on a comprehensive analysis of employee feedback and publicly available data.
To be eligible for consideration, a company must have at least 1,000 employees, a principal office in the United States, and not have been implicated in any unfair workplace practices or harassment within the last two years.
The Inspirational and Aspirational Factors
This dimension assesses a company’s ability to inspire and attract a workforce. It is based on a survey of over 224,000 U.S. employees who were asked, “For which employer would you love to work?”
- Inspirational Factor: This measures the percentage of employees who named their current employer, reflecting a company’s ability to delight and inspire its existing workforce.
- Aspirational Factor: This measures the number of employees who named a company that is not their current employer, serving as a testament to the company’s public image, reputation and overall attractiveness.
Overall Company Performance
This dimension evaluates a company’s workplace culture and employee experience. It is based on large-scale online survey(s) of over 400,000 U.S. employees, which collected more than 4.9 million company reviews (collected over the last three years). The demographically representative sample of participants provided both direct recommendations (for their current employer) and indirect recommendations (for other employers they were familiar with). Each company was evaluated in detail across 10 key drivers of employee satisfaction.
In addition to the survey data, the analysis was supplemented with over 120 key performance indicators per company, provided by HR analytics firm Aniline.ai. These KPIs covered areas such as leadership, compensation, benefits and work-life balance.
To determine the final rankings, a proprietary scoring model was used to calculate an overall score for each company, incorporating more than 25 million data points.
The comprehensive analysis of each company across the three key dimensions was supplemented by a qualitative validation review that included a thorough screening of public records and media coverage from the past 24 months to ensure the integrity and real-world relevance of the rankings.
The final list recognizes the 750 companies with the highest scores as America’s Most Admired Workplaces 2026.
